What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is a bio-remodelling skincare treatment which concentrates on the laxity of skin and promotes hydration naturally.
This treatment is a breakthrough in aesthetic technology and should not be mistaken for a dermal filler nor a mesotherapy treatment. It is currently the only product in the world of this kind which makes it so special and unique.
How does Profhilo work?
Profhilo is made from high doses of stabilised, non-crossed link Hyaluronic Acid.
As we get older, our skin becomes thinner and loses its elasticity which inevitably leads to fine lines and wrinkles. Profhilo encourages the skin to regenerate itself by promoting elasticity, firmness and smoothness. Profhilo brings back natural rehydration to the skin and boosts collagen that most face creams, serums and lotions cannot.
Profhilo is injected into the skin’s layers at 5 injection points in one area.
Who is Profhilo for?
Profhilo is for anyone that has signs of ageing. Originally, Profhilo was for patients between 40 to 60 though there is no real upper age limit. However, younger clients will benefit from the preventative results that Profhilo offers.
Where can I have Profhilo injected on my body?
Profhilo is perfect for the face but can be used almost anywhere on the body where hydration is needed or where skin is loose and/or thin. Patients can have Profhilo in their neck, hands, knees, décolleté (upper chest), arms and belly area.
When do I need to have this Profhilo treatment?
Whenever you feel ready or when you think your skin is changing. It doesn’t necessarily mean you have to wait until you start to see signs of ageing or wait till 40. After 30, our body has less collagen, elastin and Hyaluronic Acid, so we should preserve and look after what we have left.
Profhilo consists of a 2-step treatment which need to be undertaken 4 weeks apart.
After the first Profhilo treatment, around 4 weeks later, patients will see an improvement in the texture of their skin. Then, again, after the second treatment, patients will be able to see a further change where the skin will look more hydrated, youthful and tighter.
Anything else I need to know about Profhilo?
There are very few risks with having Profhilo. As with any injected treatment, there may be some bruising or swelling. Allergic reactions, infection, vascular compromise and nerve damage are possible though these are rare. There is no downtime or rest needed after treatment.
