What is PRP Therapy?
PRP Therapy also known as ‘Vampire or Dracula’ facelift, PRP therapy utilises your body’s own ability to regenerate, heal and anti-age any treated area. The procedure is simple, safe and is very beneficial, achieving a natural result
What is Involved in the Procedure?
The practitioner takes small amount of blood (usually 2 teaspoons) which is put into laboratory equipment to separate the red blood cells from the plasma. The plasma is then injected into the desired area using very fine needles. Your plasma contains those amazing cells called platelets. The platelets are responsible for releasing Growth Factors that wake up the Stem cells causing them to transform, heal and produce new cells.
How Many Procedures are Needed?
Everyone’s needs are individual depending on the area to be treated. Your practitioner will discuss this with you during consultation. The standard protocol is at least 3 treatments per year also dependant on the area treated and individual circumstances. Hair restoration requires more treatments.
Is the Procedure Painful?
There may be a mild discomfort from the injections and a tingling sensation. This is a normal part of the healing process. A mild erythema (redness) may be visible for a few hours in the treatment area.
What Results are Expected?
The treatment will give you an instant skin ‘glow’ on the days following the procedure and then the magic begins as the actual process of new cells formation starts. You will continue to see improvement over the next 30 to 90 days as you produce new cells in the treatment area.
